The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (“USWNT”) won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and simultaneously furthered their quest for equal pay on the world stage. The continued success of the USWNT has once again highlighted the increasing concerns of both employers and employees related to the gender pay gap. Employers are more often finding themselves subject to both internal and external scrutiny of their practices as pressure mounts from employees, investors and regulators. Employees are seeking greater transparency from their employers regarding how fairly they are being compensated. As shareholders and clients are demanding assurances that companies are making wage decisions fairly and in compliance with the law, more businesses are seeking outside assistance to conduct assessments and suggest best practices.
