Shulman Rogers’ Mergers and Acquisitions team once again helped a client close an important and challenging transaction. The team advised the owners of Serten Advisors, LLC in the sale of their equity interests to Toronto-based Colliers International. The sale closed on October 18, 2017, after almost a year of planning, discussions and negotiations.
Serten Advisors, a Firm client since its formation in 2012, is among the Greater Washington Area’s largest tenant-rep firms. Colliers International is a multi-national firm aspiring to enter the D.C. market with a bang by acquiring one of the area’s premier tenant-rep firms.
The Shulman Rogers team advising Serten was led by Aaron Ghais, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Business and Financial Services Department, Bob Canter, Chair of the Firm’s Tax Group, and Keith Marshall, a seasoned M&A lawyer who joined the Firm less than a year ago from Cooley LLP. The Firm’s Managing Shareholder, Sam Spiritos, also played a pivotal role. Colliers was represented by Canadian firm Torys LLP.
