On July 1st the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced the EEO-1 Component 2 submission deadline is on or before September 30, 2019. The EEOC also released guidance for the proper submission of EEO-1 Component 2 compensation data for 2017 and 2018 in advance of the July 15th activation of the online portal for filing. In addition to answers to frequently asked questions, the website now provides a sample form, instruction booklet for filers, reference documents and more.
As a reminder, Component 2 filing requirements apply to private employers with at least 100 employees and federal contractors with at least 50 employees and a contract with the federal government of $50,000 or more. Having filed the Component 1 information on or before May 31, 2018, covered businesses are now asked, as part of Component 2, to report employee pay data and hours by job category, race, ethnicity and sex.
