Drew Ricci protects his clients’ interests by proactively drafting, reviewing and implementing comprehensive and fair workplace policies and providing real-time counsel to help employers remain in compliance with federal and state regulations. Realizing that each situation is unique, he takes the time to understand his client’s goals and particular challenges, and tailors his strategies accordingly.

Drew focuses on the management side of employment law in matters concerning employee misconduct, workplace harassment, compensation and leave issues, discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour claims, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, and breach of contract. A seasoned litigator, Drew is a strong advocate for his clients in the courtroom when needed.

Drew also counsels clients in diverse industries on compliance with privacy, data protection, advertising, and consumer protection laws and regulations. He advises clients on matters arising under a range of U.S. legal regimes including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), Gram-Leach-Biley Act (GLBA), Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Health Insurance and Portability Act (HIPPA), Health Insurance Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act of 2009 (HITECH), and federal and state laws that prohibit unfair or deceptive business practices. He also advises on various state and local privacy, cybersecurity and data breach notification laws.

Drew is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Prior to his focus on employment and labor law, Drew gained significant experience in cybersecurity.  While in law school, he served as a Research Assistant to Law Professor Michael Greenberger, at the University of Maryland Center for Health & Homeland Security.  In that role, he helped to develop emergency response policies for government clients and researched and analyzed emerging cybersecurity issues.  In addition to his J.D., he obtained a Cybersecurity and Crisis Management Law Concentration Program Certificate from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and continues to follow emerging cybersecurity legal issues.

Drew earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina and was Captain of the Varsity Track and Field Team.  He is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
