Employment Roundtable: Employees, Contractors, Temps, and Interns… What’s in a Name/Classification and Why Should I Care?
October 21, 2016
Please join us on November 1, 2016 – just one month before the new DOL Overtime Regulations are effective, and two months before many (including your) employees working on federal contracts may gain valuable (required) paid sick leave – as we discuss alternatives for classifying workers, and how these decisions may affect your business practices, creating both foreseeable and some unanticipated liability or exposure.
Greg Grant of the Employment and Labor Law Group at Shulman Rogers will provide valuable best-practice advice on:
- Classifying workers appropriately
- Your potential exposure/legal liability for getting it wrong
- How classifications may impact your business practices
- What you can do to protect your business assets
- What, if any, opportunity remains for using Interns
