POTOMAC, Md. (October 7, 2019) Shulman Rogers Land Use and Zoning attorney, Nancy Regelin, has been voted Citizen of the Year by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce.
The Citizen of the Year award is given to a person who demonstrates a commitment to civic and community service that creates a lasting and beneficial impact for the business community, has positively influenced the lives of others through mentoring, supports local programs and charities and sits on at least one non-profit board.
Nancy embodies all of these qualities and more. Over the last 28 years, she has helped the City of Rockville’s downtown evolve from the original 15 acre “past its prime” Rockville Mall to a 60-acre multiple-block, award winning, active downtown which is a magnet for civic events, businesses and diverse residents. Grateful and honored to receive this award, Nancy feels that “by holding fast to the principles of honesty, transparency and collaboration, (she has) found mutual respect and trust with the diverse stakeholders of my adopted hometown of Rockville and (has) helped create a new downtown to be enjoyed by many for generations to come.”
The Citizen of the Year award will be one of five awards presented at the RCC’s Rockstar Awards Event at Manor Country Club on November 7, 2019.
