Steven Bagheri is an associate in Shulman Rogers’ Landlord-Tenant Group. He focuses his practice on residential and commercial landlord-tenant matters and related real estate litigation, representing property owners and businesses throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
Steven brings more than six years of litigation experience to his practice. He advises clients on disputes involving lease interpretation, nonpayment of rent, habitability claims, consumer protection issues and other alleged lease violations. He has handled hundreds of matters from intake through resolution, frequently appearing in court and serving as sole counsel in numerous bench trials. His practice is grounded in efficient strategy, practical problem-solving and cost-effective resolution, while remaining fully prepared to litigate through trial and appeal when necessary.
Before joining Shulman Rogers, Steven built a broad litigation foundation representing commercial landlords, businesses and individuals in landlord-tenant disputes, contract litigation and consumer protection matters in the Washington metropolitan area. His experience also includes general liability and federal court litigation, which informs his ability to assess risk, damages and litigation strategy across a wide range of disputes.
Steven earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he was awarded a merit-based leadership scholarship from enrollment to graduation. While in law school, he served as a student-attorney in the Criminal Records/Reentry Clinic, assisting Baltimore City residents with expungement and shielding matters. He also served as a research fellow for the Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. Center for Education, Justice and Ethics and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Irma S. Raker (Ret.) of the Supreme Court of Maryland. Steven began his career in the contracts department of an IT solutions provider in the government contracting industry.
Outside of the office, Steven enjoys staying active with team sports, strength training and skiing, and considers himself an avid car enthusiast. He is a native of Montgomery County and resides in Bethesda with his wife.
