PitchMasters™ announces 2018 dates, seeks entrepreneurs for pitch presentations

February 21, 2018

PitchMasters™, a recently launched event for entrepreneurs preparing to raise their first institutional or ‘A’ round of capital, has announced dates for 2018. The event series aims to bring together four early-stage or start-up companies and experienced entrepreneurs, investors and industry influencers to hone pitching skills, provide practical insights and guidance, and form new network connections. For 2018, PitchMasters seeks participants for its March 7, June 6, September 12 and December 6 events.

Tien Wong, founder of the DC-based CONNECTpreneur event series, attended the group’s inaugural event in 2017, bringing his experience as an entrepreneur, investor and pitch showcase organizer.

“With so many innovative entrepreneurs looking for guidance and funding to fuel their ideas, PitchMasters is filling a very important need in our community. Kudos to Shulman Rogers and Newport Board Group for creating yet another platform to encourage and support the success of start-up companies,” Wong said.

PitchMasters formed as a partnership between Shulman Rogers and Newport Board Group, as both organizations recognize the vast, innovative talent throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia.  PitchMasters aims to address the needs of entrepreneurs looking to gain pitch experience, while growing their network and potential funding opportunities.

“There are very few expert resources to help founder CEOs prep for their first institutional capital raises and we decided to address that need at no cost to those selected to pitch,” said Newport Board Group Managing Director Tony Cord. “Our collective goal is to provide massive impact for the selected CEOs,” he added.

Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the March 2018 event, as well as later dates, are asked to contact Susan Kearney at for more information.
