Michael Lichtenstein, Shulman Rogers’ Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group Chair, was recently named Chair of the Board of Directors for Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH).
Michael has served as a volunteer and member of the MCCH Board of Directors since 2013 and was deeply honored by this appointment. Reflecting on his involvement with MCCH, Michael said, “I first began cooking and serving dinners at the men’s shelter 9 years ago with my wife and youngest daughter and continue to do so every six weeks or so with a dedicated group of colleagues and friends. Serving on the MCCH Board has expanded my appreciation for the great work that the staff performs in terms of housing and many other services with the goal of ending homelessness.”
MCCH provides people experiencing homelessness with permanent housing as quickly as possible – and then helps them address the issues that led to their homelessness and provides ongoing support to ensure they never become homeless again. MCCH also runs a men’s shelter and transitional housing, leading to permanent housing, and various services to address the significant trauma that homeless people suffer.
