On April 24, Larry Shulman received special recognition for “Innovations in Career and Technology Education” from the Maryland State Department of Education. For over 40 years, Larry has provided visionary leadership to Montgomery County Public Schools and worked to transform their Career and Technology Education programs.
Within Montgomery County Public Schools, Larry advocated for the creation of three new foundations: the Construction Trades Foundation, the Automotive Trades Foundation and the Information Technology Foundation. In 2019, Larry looks to create a fourth foundation to provide new opportunities to students looking for modern and engaging real-world career connections. Through the programs, students earn industry-recognized certifications, leading to higher post-graduation employment rates.
More on the MCPS Student Foundations can be found on the school district’s website.
