In our post yesterday we shared the good news that Maryland took action to calculate 2021 UI tax rates based on the data used to calculate your 2020 rate. That being said, Table F, rather than Table A will be in effect. That means the range of tax rates will be from 2.2% and 13.5% — instead of the current 0.3% and 7.5%.
In other words, the Executive Order will help, but the new rate increases will still be significant. Shulman Rogers Employment Law attorneys are available to answer any questions about this Alert or discuss the topic further.
