Biography

Mickey Hartz uses broad litigation experience to represent businesses and individuals in nearly any kind of dispute. Clients appreciate his ability to translate complicated legal matters into plain English.  His collaborative style with opposing parties helps him reach the outcomes his clients actually want. 

Before joining Shulman Rogers, Mickey practiced at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he focused on federal government investigations and regulatory analysis in the commodities and derivatives space, helping clients navigate high-stakes challenges with government regulators. 

Mickey earned his B.A. and M.P.P. from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Before starting his legal career, he was a volunteer law clerk for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and he interned with the Office of the Maryland Attorney General and the State’s Attorney’s Office in Montgomery County. Outside the office, Mickey plays live music, hikes, skis, and follows Big Ten college basketball.
