Shulman Rogers Welcomes Renowned Zoning and Land Use Attorney Phillip Hummel

February 5, 2025 – Potomac, MD – Shulman Rogers Law Firm welcomes Phillip Hummel as a Shareholder in the Firm’s Real Estate Department and Land Use and Zoning Practice Group.

Phil Hummel provides land use and zoning counsel in several Maryland jurisdictions and is dedicated to achieving outstanding results for his clients. His valuable clerkship experience, deep understanding of current trends, close monitoring of evolving laws and policies, and extensive relationships with key government and organizational contacts provide him with a significant strategic advantage.

Phil has advised on some of the region’s most substantial real estate projects, including large mixed-use developments near transit, public-private partnerships incorporating significant amounts of affordable and workforce housing, new life sciences facilities supporting biotech innovation, and the first local locations of well-known retailers.

“I am truly thrilled to join Shulman Rogers, which has a long and storied history in Montgomery County, Maryland,” Hummel said. “I am especially excited to work with Nancy Regelin and Todd Brown, both of whom are accomplished and well-respected land use and zoning practitioners who take thoughtful approaches to advocating for their clients.”

Shulman Rogers Managing Shareholder, Sam Spiritos, notes the firm “is delighted to have a talented attorney like Phil strengthen our already strong and highly regarded land use group.”
