
Schyler Bailey is a skilled litigator who brings a wealth of experience to the Shulman Rogers Commercial Litigation Team. With a focus in construction law, she works directly with clients to manage risk and handle a variety of cases from inception to resolution. Among other things, Schyler has experience working on construction delay claims, performance and payment bond claims, mechanic’s liens, payment issues, analyzing construction damages, and reviewing, advising and revising contract terms. Schyler’s responsibilities include investigation, legal research, pleadings, motions practice, discovery, trial work and preparation, and negotiations. Licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina, Schyler has significant experience in State and Federal Courts, as well as before local administrative boards and the American Arbitration Association.
Schyler’s excellent communication and organizational abilities allow her to manage a wide variety of cases and participate fully in serving clients. She approaches litigation logically and realistically, always prepared to face a challenge. She is skillful in her interactions with clients and coworkers alike, as she possesses both knowledgeable insight and a collaborative spirit. Schyler is actively involved with the Building Congress & Exchange, where she serves as a Board Member and Young Professionals Committee Chair and the Maryland State Bar Association, where she serves as Chair of the Construction Section Council.
She began her career as a Judicial Clerk in Baltimore County and subsequently worked as a Litigation Associate in Baltimore County, Maryland, where her work included participating in and attending mediations and arbitrations, interacting with clients and witnesses in deposition and trial preparation, completing legal research, memoranda, pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court.
While in law school, Schyler was a Rule 16 Student Attorney at the Mediation for Families Clinic, representing pro bono clients during mediation in Circuit Court and serving as lead counsel in family law cases. She also served as a Law Clerk at a small general practice firm, where she researched legal issues and assisted in all aspects of litigation.
