Schyler Bailey is a skilled litigator who brings a wealth of experience to the Shulman Rogers Commercial Litigation and Real Estate teams. With a focus in construction law, she works directly with clients to manage risk by drafting, reviewing and revising construction contracts for commercial construction clients, including subcontractors, contractors, design professionals and owners. This approach positions the client for success before the project begins by mitigating risk during project performance and providing an avenue for resolution when issues arise.

Clients frequently ask Schyler to review, revise and/or draft construction contract documents, including, but not limited to, AIA contract documents, private contracts, government contracts, purchase orders and standard conditions of performance. She also handles all types of construction claims from inception to resolution, including State contract claims, delay claims, performance and payment bond claims, mechanics’ liens, breach of contract claims and various payment issues. Schyler specializes in analyzing, calculating and supporting construction damages, both to help her clients recover money and to discredit claims filed against them.

Approaching litigation logically and realistically, Schyler is always prepared to face a challenge and brainstorm creative solutions. Her excellent communication and organizational skills allow her to manage a wide variety of cases while also skillfully interacting with clients and co-workers alike, possessing both knowledgeable insight and a collaborative spirit.

Schyler was recently admitted to the Construction Lawyer’s Society of America and is the Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Construction Section Council for the 2025-2026 Term. She also serves as a Board Member and the Young Professionals Committee Chair for the Building Congress & Exchange, a local construction industry group dedicated to promoting the construction industry in and around the Metropolitan Baltimore Area.

Schyler has significant experience in State and Federal Courts, before the Maryland State Board of Contract Appeals, the American Arbitration Association and local administrative boards. She began her legal career as a Judicial Clerk in Baltimore County and then worked as a Litigation Associate in Baltimore County, Maryland. Her focus included participating in and attending mediations and arbitrations, interacting with clients and witnesses in deposition and trial preparation, completing legal research, memoranda, pleadings and motions and representing clients in court.
