William B. Schroeder is a Counsel at Shulman Rogers whose practice centers on commercial litigation across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. With more than 15 years of experience, Will represents business owners, home builders, land developers, and contractors in disputes that demand both technical legal skill and creative problem-solving. He is known for his commitment to his clients’ goals and his ability to identify unconventional paths to favorable outcomes.
Will’s litigation practice spans real estate, construction, and contract disputes, with a track record of success both at trial and through pre-trial resolution. He has served as lead counsel in bench and jury trials throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area and has argued before Maryland’s appellate courts. His clients benefit from his efficiency as a litigator — an approach that consistently saves time and reduces cost without sacrificing results.
A recognized authority on electronic discovery, Will brings particular depth to cases involving complex e-discovery challenges. He helps clients navigate the technical and financial demands of computer and electronic discovery issues that can otherwise become significant litigation burdens, offering practical, cost-conscious strategies that protect his clients’ interests.
Will earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and his B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College. He is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and multiple federal district courts.
Beyond his legal practice, Will is actively engaged in his community. He is a director, treasurer, and secretary of No Warrior Left Behind, a nonprofit providing direct outreach and assistance to injured veterans and first responders. He also serves as a conciliator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court and previously served as president and director of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County.
