Hope Gouterman provides strategic legal solutions to her commercial real estate clients. Focused on real estate transactions, her clients include property owners, landlords, tenants, investors and developers in acquisition, financing, development and leasing matters locally and throughout the United States. She has experience structuring, drafting and negotiating complex lease transactions in connection with various real estate asset types, including retail, office and industrial.
Hope also has experience assisting clients throughout the life cycle of a residential real estate transaction, including preparing deeds, assuring that the terms of the contract and/or loan commitment are consistent with the final settlement documents, supervising the execution of the settlement documents and conducting the closing.
Hope earned her law degree magna cum laude from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, along with a Certificate in Law and Public Policy. While in law school, Hope was a Lead Articles Editor of the Catholic University Law Review and a member of the Mock Trial Team. Hope was also an extern for the Honorable Andrea M. Leahy of the Appellate Court of Maryland.
Hope received her B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and was Captain of the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team. Before law school, Hope taught for two years in a Title I elementary school and was head coach of a high school varsity soccer team, both in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Hope is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
