Brad Swallow has built a practice at the intersection of bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial litigation and workouts. Admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1990 and the Maryland Bar in 1997, Brad represents clients in federal bankruptcy courts and state and federal courts throughout Maryland and Virginia, bringing a direct, practical approach to matters that demand both legal rigor and sound business judgment.

Brad’s work spans both sides of the table. He regularly represents banks and financial institutions in commercial collection litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, and workout negotiations. He also brings deep experience representing commercial debtors, trustees, landlords, and other parties in complex Chapter 11 cases, including structuring bankruptcy sales, negotiating plans of reorganization, and representing parties in adversary proceedings. That breadth gives him a well-rounded perspective that serves clients at every stage of a matter.

Brad is an active leader within the Maryland bankruptcy community. He currently serves as President-Elect of the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association (BBA), has served on judicial selection committees in connection with recent Maryland Bankruptcy Court vacancies, and has participated both as a faculty member and a member of the Planning Committee for the annual BBA Spring Break Retreat.

Brad earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1990, where he served as a Staff Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Districts of Maryland and Virginia.
