Angad Kanwal advises businesses, founders, and investors through the transactions and decisions that shape their future, from entity formation and day-to-day governance to mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. He works alongside clients throughout the full lifecycle of a deal, drafting and negotiating definitive purchase and merger agreements, leading due diligence efforts, and handling the details that turn a complex transaction into a closed one.

Clients value Angad for being easy to reach and quick to respond. He stays close to the work, brings in the right people at the right moments, and keeps clients clear on where things stand and why. Whether he is assisting clients with capitalization efforts, putting together an equity plan, advising on general corporate governance matters, or talking through a stockholders’ agreement, he focuses on practical guidance clients can act on.

Angad came to Shulman Rogers after several years in private practice, where he focused on corporate and securities work and mergers and acquisitions, advising clients on both day-to-day governance issues and transformative transactions. He has routinely guided M&A matters from initial deal structure through post-closing compliance and integration. Earlier in his career, he worked in-house on regulatory and compliance issues in the cryptocurrency space, which gave him a close-up view of how fast-moving industries and their regulators interact.

Angad earned his J.D. from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University and holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and Virginia, and speaks Hindi and Spanish.
