Shulman Rogers Serves as Lead Pro Bono Counsel for Montgomery College Foundation

September 23, 2016

Shulman Rogers served as lead pro bono counsel for Montgomery College Foundation for the acquisition of a 115,000 square foot office building located at 9221 Corporate Boulevard, in Rockville, Maryland, which will house over 400 college employees and consolidate the majority of Montgomery College’s central services, including the new offices of the President of Montgomery College, Dr. DeRionne Pollard.  Our commercial transactions team’s work included: negotiating the purchase and sale agreement; performing land use and development due diligence; working with Montgomery County to create an ownership lot structure; negotiating a reciprocal easement agreement between a neighboring office building; negotiating all leasing work for the property; negotiating the construction contract for the build out; and other various due diligence matters.

Shulman Rogers was proud to serve as lead counsel for the acquisition of the building.  It was a team effort and we were pleased to work alongside other real estate committee members for the Foundation, including Bill Hard of LCOR, Inc., Doug Firstenberg of StonebridgeCarras, and Cris White of MRP Realty.  We look forward to participating in the continued success and growth of Montgomery College in the years to come.
