Do you know… how to use the soil map to find the soil type?
All contracts conveying real property in the District of Columbia must disclose the property’s soil type. (See DC Official Code§42-408(b)). In a class I recently taught, several participants lamented that the soil map is difficult to use and often they are unable to determine the type of soil from the map. I assured the attendees that I would provide them with an easy-to-use guide to the soil map. As promised, I delivered the guide to the class, and now I’d like to share it with all of you.
You can find the five step guide to the soil map here.
