Confidential Settlement Reached in Prince George’s County Retained Object Case
In November 2024, Mike Nakamura and his team were able to recover a significant settlement on behalf of a young man in Prince George’s County. He had undergone abdominal surgery and post-operatively continued to experience severe pain and other symptoms not consistent with the surgery. A scan was taken which showed a mass but was otherwise inconclusive. He was forced to undergo exploratory surgery to investigate the mass. Upon reaching the site, an object from the first surgery was discovered intertwined in his intestine. The young man was traumatized and experienced severe anxiety and apprehension with regard to medical care to the point that he underwent counseling. After negotiations, we were able to resolve his case with the hospital in Prince George’s County.
