Confidential Settlement in Medication Error Case in Baltimore, Maryland

Shulman Rogers is pleased to announce a confidential settlement obtained on behalf of our client injured by a medication error. Our client underwent a surgical procedure, and despite a previous order for the appropriate dose, a new order was given to the patient after surgery for an increased dose that was several times the correct dose. Unfortunately, none of the health care providers at this Baltimore hospital, including a surgeon, a nurse practitioner, and a pharmacist, caught the error. As a result, our client suffered a near-fatal brain bleed, which required emergency brain surgery and a long period of convalescence. She survived this serious incident but was left with a number of lingering cognitive and memory issues.

This case involved several medical experts in several disciplines. This favorable confidential settlement was reached shortly after the lawsuit was filed, and our client, who with this positive outcome, can continue to receive the medical treatment she needs and close this unpleasant chapter.
