Teal Hinga represents clients in a wide range of commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. She proactively protects her client’s investments by drafting contracts and leases that anticipate and guard against potential disputes. Teal concentrates on a well-rounded, client-centric approach to disputes by achieving successful outcomes through both settlement and litigation. Clients appreciate that she is always available to answer their questions and help them understand complex legal concepts.
In the Landlord-Tenant arena, her work includes drafting, filing and arguing discovery and judgment motions and negotiating with opposing parties to avoid litigation and reach a resolution. Teal performs extensive discovery, including pretrial assessment and research for national clients, examines and cross-examines witnesses during deposition and trial, and assumes all trial-related responsibilities from filing a complaint to post-judgment collection. Teal’s clients praise her familiarity with the nuances of each jurisdiction and her ability to bring clarity to the litigation process.
While in law school, Teal served as a student attorney for the environmental law clinic, where she researched substantive legal issues in regulatory compliance and Clean Water Act cases, analyzed and distilled data for use in environmental justice cases and assisted in litigation preparation for matters before a federal court.
