Most attorneys bring legal expertise to the table. Seth Diamond brings something harder to find: the perspective of someone who has been the litigator in the courtroom, the founder running a firm, and the in-house counsel fielding calls from the C-suite. As Counsel at Shulman Rogers, he advises individuals, families, and business owners across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. on real estate, commercial disputes, transactions, and related litigation, with the kind of judgment that only comes from having seen the full picture.

Seth’s practice at Shulman Rogers centers on real estate and commercial matters, including transactions, contract disputes, and complex litigation. He is also a trusted resource across the firm for creditor-debtor issues, bankruptcy strategy, franchise agreements, business formation and operations, and wills and estates. Whether guiding a business owner through a high-stakes dispute or helping a family navigate an estate matter, Seth draws on his broad background to deliver clear judgment and steady counsel.

Seth’s litigation foundation was built early in his career in Miami, where he focused almost exclusively on courtroom work, conducting hundreds of depositions, examining witnesses at trial, arguing dispositive motions, and serving as trial counsel in numerous jury trials across insurance defense and complex civil matters. After returning to the Washington metropolitan area, he founded The Diamond Law Group, LLC, a boutique bankruptcy and litigation firm, and went on to become one of the region’s most recognized bankruptcy practitioners. He filed thousands of consumer and business cases and litigated matters across civil, bankruptcy, and appellate courts. Seth served as lead counsel in In re Davis, a published Fourth Circuit decision establishing seminal precedent that allows the removal of junior liens from underwater properties in Chapter 13 cases, even where the debtor is ineligible for a discharge. The opinion remains widely cited and influential nationwide. He also served as Chair of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland for the Greenbelt Division during this period.

Seth later served as Assistant General Counsel for a major national credit union, advising senior leadership on litigation strategy and overseeing bankruptcy and collections matters. That in-house experience, working alongside internal teams to resolve disputes, improve processes, and manage issues involving consumer claims, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) matters, and banking-related litigation, gave him something most litigators don’t have: a genuine understanding of what clients need on the other side of the table. He translates complex legal analysis into guidance that people can actually act on.

Seth earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and his B.A. from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been repeatedly recognized as a Maryland and Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer, as well as a top attorney by The Washington Post, Baltimore Magazine, and other regional publications.
