Seth Diamond is a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience spanning litigation, bankruptcy, real estate and commercial matters. He brings a practical, business-minded approach to every engagement, shaped by years in both courtroom and boardroom settings, as well as his experience running his own law firm. As a former small business owner, he understands the operational pressures clients face, and that perspective informs the strategic, solutions-oriented counsel he delivers.

Seth began his career in Miami, Florida, where he focused almost exclusively on litigation. He conducted hundreds of depositions, examined witnesses at trial, argued dispositive motions and participated in numerous jury trials. His early work in insurance defense and complex civil matters built a deep litigation foundation that continues to guide his strategic judgment.

After returning to the Washington metropolitan area, Seth founded The Diamond Law Group, LLC, a boutique bankruptcy and litigation firm, and served as Chair of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland for the Greenbelt Division. Over the next decade, he became one of the region’s most recognized bankruptcy attorneys, filing thousands of consumer and business cases and litigating matters across civil, bankruptcy and appellate courts. He served as lead counsel in In re Davis, a published Fourth Circuit decision that established a seminal precedent allowing the removal of junior liens from underwater properties in Chapter 13 cases, even when the debtor is ineligible for a discharge. The opinion remains widely cited and influential nationwide. During this time, Seth also handled numerous bench trials and evidentiary hearings, earning a reputation for clear writing, persuasive advocacy and meticulous preparation.

Seth later served as Assistant General Counsel for a major national credit union, advising senior leadership on litigation strategy and overseeing bankruptcy and collections matters. He worked closely with internal teams to improve processes, resolve disputes and manage issues involving consumer claims, FCRA matters, liability defense and banking-related litigation. His in-house experience strengthened his ability to translate complex legal analysis into actionable business guidance.

Today, Seth serves as Of Counsel at Shulman Rogers, focusing on real estate, commercial disputes, transactions and related litigation. He is a trusted resource across the firm for complex bankruptcy questions, creditor-debtor issues, franchise agreements, business formation and operations and wills and estates, drawing on his broad background to help individuals, families and business owners navigate legal and financial challenges.

Seth is AV-rated and has been repeatedly recognized as a Maryland and Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer, as well as a top attorney in The Washington Post, Baltimore Magazine and other regional publications. Clients consistently commend his communication, thorough preparation and commitment to delivering practical, results-driven solutions.
