Bianca Pinnock is an experienced negotiator and litigator who handles cases involving all areas of family law such as adoption, child custody, child support, separation and divorce, guardianship, spousal support/alimony, property division, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Clients appreciate her commitment to excellence, depth of knowledge and the calm yet assertive demeanor Bianca brings to every matter. She has significant experience in Maryland and the District of Columbia courts.
Prior to entering private practice, Bianca served as a law clerk to Montgomery County Circuit Court Associate Judge Cynthia Callahan. In addition to gaining valuable experience with a wide range of family law matters while clerking for Judge Callahan, she also contributed to the research, writing, editing and proofreading of Fader’s Maryland Family Law, Sixth Edition. For many years prior to joining Shulman Rogers, she worked as an associate in a boutique family law firm in Montgomery County, Maryland.
With a strong commitment to being an active participant in the legal community, Bianca is a 2016 graduate of the Bar Association of Montgomery County Leadership Development Academy and a graduate of the Washington DC 2022 Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academies engage attorneys in training and activities to develop and enhance their skills as future leaders of the Bar Associations. She has also been an Associate Member of the Montgomery County Inn of Court, which is a professional association devoted to developing the ethical and trial advocacy skills of local litigators. Bianca has completed the 40-Hour Mediation & Interest-Based Negotiation Skills Training. She recently completed the Best Interest Attorney Training and received 2023 certification.
Widely recognized within her field, in 2022, Bianca was elected as a member of the Bar Leaders of the Bar Foundation of Montgomery County, which is a distinguished, invitation-only organization. Additionally, she was nominated by her peers to serve on the Executive Committee for the Bar Association of Montgomery County. Since 2021, Bianca has been named to the National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes influential lawyers who have a reputation for providing excellent legal representation and who are leaders in their respective practice areas. In 2022, she was listed in Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” for her work in Family Law and Family Law: Arbitration and Mediation. She was named a Top Attorney for Adoption in Bethesda Magazine in 2021 and was selected as a “Rising Star” for 2022 and 2023 in Maryland and DC Super Lawyers Magazine.
Bianca is active in the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division, National Bar Association (GWAC), a network of African American women attorneys dedicated to the professional development of its members. She previously served as the chapter’s historian and Law Firm and Corporate Counsel Chair.
During her time at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Bianca participated in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team, for which she was awarded the school’s Litigation and Advocacy Award. She was also a member of the Students Supporting the Women’s Law Center. She received a Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Services and was recognized with the Department’s Award for Service.
