Ariel T. Talbert is an associate in the Medical Malpractice group at Shulman Rogers, advocating for patients and families who have been harmed by healthcare provider negligence. Guided by a deep commitment to advocacy, Ariel approaches her work with empathy, diligence, and a strong sense of purpose. She brings a disciplined, research-driven approach to complex litigation, a careful eye for the facts, and a genuine understanding of what is at stake for the people she represents — working to ensure clients feel informed, supported, and well-served at every stage of the process.

Before joining Shulman Rogers, Ariel served as a judicial law clerk for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia. In that role, she drafted bench memoranda, orders, and legal opinions, and managed a complex docket that required close coordination with internal and external parties. Her experience in a judicial setting provides her with valuable insight into judicial decision-making that allows her to approach litigation with both precision and practicality.

Ariel earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to advocacy and leadership. She served as the President of the Harvard Black Law Students Association and as Submissions Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. Her law school experience also included hands-on experience through Harvard Law’s International Human Rights and Human Rights Entrepreneurs clinics and as a student advocate with Harvard Defenders. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from Spelman College, graduating as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha along with numerous academic and service organizations.

Outside of the office, Ariel enjoys volunteering in her community, strength training, and exploring the DC area’s vibrant food scene. She is also an enthusiast of the arts, including film, literary arts, and live performances.
