August 9, 2018

On Aug. 9, Allison Baker Shealy led a session on blockchain for businesses during The Power Conference. Her presentation, “Should Your Business Jump on the Blockchain or Cryptocurrency Bandwagon?”, highlighted pros and cons that business owners should examine before considering virtual currency options.

The Power Conference brings together women business owners and executives from Montgomery County, and Maryland, DC and Virginia for intensive discussions on business best practices, the latest innovations and new resources. In its 19th year, The Power Conference serves as the largest women’s business development conference in the region.

Allison draws on her extensive experience in securities enforcement, white collar defense and her many years as a Senior Trial Attorney with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Enforcement to shepherd clients through the regulatory landscape as applied to virtual currencies and tokens, including but not limited to the launch of initial coin offerings and sale of virtual currencies.
