Sarah Cline to serve as speaker for ABA wire fraud webinar

February 11, 2019

Shulman Rogers attorney Sarah Cline will serve as a speaker for the Feb. 27, 2019, webinar “Cybersecurity and Data Breach Prevention: What Every Transactional Attorney Must Know.” The program, presented by the American Bar Association, is geared towards attorneys and title agents responsible for disbursing payoffs and seller proceeds.

As wire fraud and data breaches continue to be serious risks for both consumers and professionals involved in real estate transactions, attorneys responsible for sending wire transfers need to stay informed on the latest ways to detect risks and protect against hackers. This panel will discuss these concerns and explore:

  • The latest scams targeted at real estate attorneys and escrow agents
  • The laws (and potential liabilities) that apply in the event of a breach
  • Best practices and procedures to protect yourself and your clients from a data breach
  • What to do in the event of a data breach

More information and registration is available through the ABA’s website.

Sarah Cline is a transactional attorney in Shulman Rogers’ Real Estate Department with significant experience in both residential and commercial real estate deals. Sarah regularly teaches classes on real estate and title topics to real estate agents and fellow attorneys.
