Sarah Cline to present webinar on clearing title defects
January 23, 2019
Sarah Cline, a shareholder in Shulman Rogers’ Real Estate Department, will serve as faculty for the webinar “Clearing Title for Defects Due to Easements, Encroachments and Survey/Boundary Disputes.” This CLE course will be offered through Strafford on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
The goal of every real estate deal attorney is to ensure timely and smooth closing of the transaction. Title defects are just one of the many hurdles that transactional attorneys must clear. While there are many risks that can create an encumbrance or cloud on title, real estate practitioners regularly deal with title defects due to easements and undiscovered encroachments. Similarly, boundary/survey disputes often arise due to conflicting survey reports.
The panel will review these and other challenging matters:
- What are the most common issues related to easements and encroachments on property?
- What are best practices for investigating and clearing the title?
- What are effective solutions to party wall, driveway and road maintenance, and other potential party problems?
Sarah focuses her practice on commercial and residential real estate issues, representing parties in all aspects of residential and commercial sale and refinance settlements. She counsels clients on real estate issues including, researching title problems and assisting property owners with the refinance or sale of their property.
