David Robbins quoted in PubKLaw: Judge Keeps IRD Lawsuit Alive Despite Lifted Suspension

David Robbins, chairman of the firm’s Government Contracts & Grants practice, and former acting Suspending and Debarring Official, was quoted in a PubKLaw article discussing the ongoing International Relief & Development lawsuit over its suspension from government contracting. A federal judge denied the U.S. Agency for International Development’s attempt to dismiss IRD’s case.
David Robbins of Shulman Rogers, a former Air Force debarring attorney who is not involved with the case, said that suspension and debarment attorneys are keenly interested in the potential for a judicial decision, especially one that comes with an injunction and an official repudiation of USAID’s handling of the case.
“It sounds like the judge is really skeptical of the government’s argument, and the questions he’s asking seem to suggest that he’s looking for irreparable harm, and seriously considering some form of injunctive relief,” Robbins said.
