A Message from the Managing Shareholder

March 20, 2020

We hope you are all staying healthy and safe, and adjusting to the new normal of COVID-19 and social distancing. I am pleased to report that our attorneys and staff have not missed a beat, and remain accessible via email, phone and remote meeting technologies – and that our ability to work collaboratively is unchanged.

We are committed to helping you and your business face the challenges that COVID-19 presents. Yesterday, Merry Campbell, Co-Chair of the Employment and Labor Law Group, hosted a Zoom call to hundreds of clients and contacts, providing answers to their most commonly asked questions about the impact of this crisis on their businesses and employees. A recording of the call can be accessed by clicking here.

She has another call scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM that will focus on COVID-19: What to do with your Employees:  Layoff vs. Furlough. To register for that call, click here.

This week, we created a COVID-19 Legal Resource Center as a repository of practical advice for businesses and individuals – check back often for helpful guidance posted there. Today’s updates include:

Employment Law Alert: Employers Must Act Now! Emergency Paid Family and Sick Leave

COVID-19 Tax Relief: IRS Extends Tax Payment and Filing Deadlines; Some States Grant Tax Relief

Attention Business Owners: Disaster Assistance is Available!

As a reminder, Shulman Rogers can assist you with issues related to:

contract review (force majeure),
commercial leasing,
data privacy,
commercial real estate, as well as a host of other areas.

Please stay well and let us know how we can help.

All the best…SAM
