Clients turn to Jordan Nye when they need an experienced lawyer who not only knows the law and the legal process, but who will also listen to their specific concerns and tailor strategies which will successfully meet their goals.

Throughout Virginia and Washington DC, Jordan advises clients in all aspects of family law including separation and divorce, child custody, child support, visitation disputes, spousal support, property distributions, mediation, pre and post-nuptial agreements and more.  Clients appreciate his ability to put them at ease and help them feel supported while negotiating some of life’s most challenging decisions and legal matters involving their families.

While Jordan strives to settle disputes outside of the courtroom, he has extensive experience taking cases to trial when necessary.  He is a fierce advocate for his clients’ rights, understanding that the decisions made in the legal process will have a lifetime impact on many families.  Jordan has vast trial experience, notably including representing a client in a case that resulted in a precedent setting decision in the field of family law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, extending legal rights to same sex couples.

Currently serving as president of the DC LGBT Bar Association, Jordan understands that families come in many different forms and he is committed to helping all families, regardless of their makeup, achieve their goals. He is adept at guiding LGBT clients through the process of building their families, and has familiarity with issues that can unfortunately arise when things do not work out as planned.

Jordan has lived in the DC Metropolitan area for more than twelve years and when he is not at work, he can be found riding his bike, at the gym and eating at local restaurants.
