With an understanding that every business has differing needs and goals, John Clifford draws on his experience to help clients identify the best course of action to achieve the desired end result.  An associate in the Firm’s Employment & Labor Practice Group, John focuses both on guiding employers in their efforts to maintain policies and practices that are compliant with local and federal law, and representing employers in litigation if and when necessary. 

John counsels his clients regarding employee misconduct, workplace harassment, compensation and leave issues, and other employment matters that confront employers each day. Recognizing that litigation is often a last resort, when necessary, John is an ardent  advocate for his clients, with experience litigating matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour claims, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, and breach of contract.  He has represented clients in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies.

After earning his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, John was an associate at a law firm in Washington, D.C. where he practiced employment law and general litigation.  He also spent a year clerking for Judge Joseph A. Dugan, Jr. in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.  John is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland bars.
