Transit Wireless

Shulman Rogers represents transit agencies and companies (bus, rail, airports and airlines) nationwide regarding their wireless issues. The Firm handles spectrum acquisition and licensing matters on a local and nationwide basis. The Firm's activities include:   Advising on and acquiring spectrum for commuter railroads for Positive Train Control;   Acquiring additional spectrum for bus companies, railroads, airports and airlines for ground radio use;   Advising agencies and companies on requirements for meeting the FCC's "Narrowbanding" Rules;   Representing agencies and companies in their 800 MHz Rebanding negotiations with Sprint/Nextel.   As part of its efforts in representing the Transit Industry, Shulman Rogers is a member of the Joint Council on Transit Wireless.  The Council represent bus and rail agencies nationwide on wireless issues.  Shulman Rogers Telecommunications Department Chairman Alan Tilles is the Chairman of the Joint Council's Narrowbanding Committee, and the Joint Council's 800 MHz Rebanding Committee.  Mr. Tilles has presented before a number of transit agencies on their narrowbanding and rebanding issues, and has written articles for the APTA magazine and other industry journals
