Ira Hoffman Gets the Air Force to Award a Contract to a Firm Client
December 2, 2009On December 2, 2009, the U.S. Air Force awarded a contract to a Firm client for conversion of classroom-based courseware to Distance Learning, which will enable the Air Force to provide training to Airmen anytime, anywhere through satellite broadcasts, webinars, and printed materials. What is especially noteworthy about this particular contract award is that it occurred less than 10 days after Ira Hoffman, Chair of the Firm’s Government Contracts and International Practice Groups, filed a bid protest at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) challenging the Air Force’s earlier decision not to make such an award to the client. Now that the protest has been resolved, the client will begin to perform the contract and make it easier and more cost-effective for the Air Force to conduct Distance Learning.
