
Hong Suk “Paul” Chung is a Shareholder in the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Department at Shulman Rogers. In his current practice, Paul represents individuals who have been seriously injured or have lost a loved one as a result of the negligence of others, including health care providers. In addition, Paul also handles claims arising under the Federal Tort Claims Act and Military Claims Act. Paul’s practice, however, is not limited to medical malpractice, personal injury, birth injury or product liability cases but also encompasses variety of commercial and criminal defense matters. He is admitted to practice before the courts in Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia.
Paul attended public schools in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1992. Paul then attended Temple University School of Law, where he was a member of the International and Comparative Law Journal, obtaining his Juris Doctor degree in 1996. While is law school, Paul had the unique opportunity to work as a summer associate for a Korean based law firm in Seoul, Korea.
Prior to joining Shulman Rogers, Paul served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Prince George’s Count y, Maryland. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Paul prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases before the District Court and the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County.
Paul currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Personal Injury Litigation Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association. In addition, he is active with the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Maryland, having served most recently on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Judicial Nominations Committee.
Paul is the son of immigrant parents. Born and raised in South Korea, Paul immigrated to the United States when he was 9 years old settling in Maryland where he continues to live today. He is fluent in Korean.
