Martin Levine has been a Shareholder at Shulman Rogers for in excess of 20 years. He is one of the most recognized and well respected practitioners of civil litigation in the greater Washington, DC area. Marty focuses his practice in the areas of Medical Malpractice and major Personal Injury matters. During the course of a 28 year career, Mr. Levine has tried in excess of 80 cases at the State and Federal levels. He maintains a National/International practice, having tried or resolved matters in Nevada, California, Texas, North Carolina, England and Switzerland.He has effectuated recoveries for his clients totaling many tens of millions of dollars. Mr. Levine specializes in cases involving obstetrical care, misdiagnosis of disease, surgical complications, and catastrohphic injuries as a consequence of negligent acts. He recently obtained, on behalf of a client, one of the largest Medical Malpractice verdicts in Montgomery County, Maryland in the last 5 years. In the course of his tenure at Shulman Rogers, Mr. Levine has served as the Firm’s first Chair of the Marketing Committee, the Hiring Shareholder, the Evaluation Shareholder, the Chair of the Firm’s Integration and Mentoring Committee and as a Member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. He is the long time Chair, and principal architect, of the Firm’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury Practice Group.  He is a member of the American Bar Association's Birth Litigation Trauma Group and the Erb's Palsy Foundation.

Prior to joining Shulman Rogers in 1987, Mr. Levine served with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and with Donahue, Ehrmantraut and Montedonico in its Rockville, Maryland and District of Columbia offices defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice claims. Over 20 years ago he began representing victims and now does so exclusively. He has been a certified Mediator and Arbitrator for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia Court system since 1988 and is also a teacher of mediators.
