SHULMAN ROGERS SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDS VERDICT CONFIRMING $1.5 MILLION BUILDING SALE

Alan Sternstein, head of Shulman Rogers' Appellate Litigation Group, has successfully defended in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals a Superior Court verdict confirming our client's $1.5 Million purchase of an apartment building in the District.  The validity of the purchase had been challenged on several grounds, including the seller's alleged failure to give notice under the District's Rental Housing and Conversion Sale Act.  Shulman Rogers defeated claims on appeal that the Act had been misconstrued and misapplied by the trial court, as well as claims that the trial court committed various procedural and evidentiary errors.
