Mr. Schulman is a Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Firm's Business Litigation Group. His practice has been highly diversified, with a concentration in complex commercial litigation matters, international and domestic arbitration, regulatory inquiries, internal investigations, and corporate counseling. He has represented major foreign and domestic financial institutions, foreign governments, insurance companies, trading concerns, media companies, real estate partnerships, hotel ownership and management companies, hotel franchisors, energy joint ventures, brewers, and an airport development company. Mr. Schulman has appeared before federal and state courts throughout the United States and various international and domestic arbitral tribunals.

Prior to joining Shulman, Rogers, Mr. Schulman was a commercial litigator in the Washington office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, the New York and Washington offices of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and the New York office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP. Mr. Schulman began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable John M. Steadman, Associate Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. Mr. Schulman earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he was the Articles Editor of the Buffalo Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics and government from Cornell University.   Mr. Schulman was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Round House Theatre and to the Firm's Hiring Committee.

Among Mr. Schulman's recent noteworthy matters are: the representation of one of Japan's largest corporations in several U.S. federal and state court actions arising out of the largest rogue-trading scandal in history, the representation of an Asian government in an international arbitration concerning the rehabilitation of the country's principal thermal power station, the representation of another Asian government in U.S. litigation concerning disputed oil and gas drilling rights in the Timor Sea, the representation of a U.S. real estate company in a lawsuit against a leading hotel management company concerning accounting practices at three luxury hotels in California, the representation of major insurance companies in litigation concerning the companies' marketing practices,  the representation of a leading U.S. homebuilder in litigation concerning the breach of a nine-figure real estate purchase contract, the representation of a major U.S. insurer against another major insurer concerning the alleged breach of a reinsurance agreement, the representation of one of Russia's largest banks in a civil forfeiture proceeding brought by the U.S. government in connection with the Bank of New York money laundering investigation, and the representation of the owner of a Brazilian power plant in an ICC arbitration and extensive pre-arbitration negotiations in connection with a construction dispute with the plant's contractor.
