Alan B. Sternstein maintains an appellate and general litigation practice. His experience as an appellate lawyer has its roots in clerkships on the United States Supreme Court for Justice William O. Douglas and later for Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. He has a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Arizona, where he also obtained his law degree in 1975, served as Executive Editor of the Arizona Law Review and was selected as the Outstanding Senior in his law school class. Since his clerkships, he has briefed appeals and related proceedings on behalf of Fortune 100 and other companies before the Supreme Court and federal and state courts of appeals in such varied areas as telecommunications, the First Amendment, administrative procedure and military benefits and has personally argued appeals in the District of Columbia, Fourth and Federal Circuits, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, and the Court of Special Appeals for Maryland.
